Waukesha, Wisconsin — June 2, 2026 – Dawn Vogelsang, president and majority owner of HRG, celebrated her 40th year with the company in May. HRG associates surprised her with a picture collage and video with personal messages congratulating her.
Hired to establish an IT team at HRG, she played an integral role in technological advances, developed new ways of doing business electronically and online, and participated in product development and market expansion initiatives. Vogelsang commented, “To have created the IT department and now be testing AI to help improve our operations is a noteworthy indicator of how much change has occurred these past 40 years. We’ve gone from monthly paper delivery of our category management tools to making all of it and more available through a dedicated portal. We’ve applied our photography expertise and efficient package transcription services in a PIM/DAM to help manufacturers protect their brand integrity in a landscape where buying decisions can completely depend on the clarity, accuracy, comprehensiveness, and attractiveness of a brand on consumers’ phones.”
Vogelsang’s achievements led her to multiple leadership roles, eventually being named vice president of operations in 1998 before becoming the general manager in 2000 when the company was purchased by NONSTOP Solutions. She spearheaded the buy-back in 2001 and has since served as president and majority owner, leading HRG with a clear vision for growth and innovation. Her deep industry expertise, operational knowledge, and technical acumen position her to continually push the organization forward in an evolving retail landscape.
Beth Maas, director of human resources and member of the owner group, said, “Dawn is our ‘Chief Culture Officer.’ She has built an environment rooted in trust, collaboration, and excellence which has led to multi-year recognition as a Top Workplace and Great Place to Work. She has built a leadership team who have upheld and furthered our strong reputation for looking beyond a customer’s immediate request to uncover the broader business challenge beneath it and then delivering strategic, forward-thinking solutions with lasting impact.”
Vogelsang said, “The retail
pharmacy industry has changed dramatically in my 40 years. While we continue to serve (and love) our independent pharmacy customers, we’ve expanded to offer our services to convenience, grocery, drug chain, and mass retailers. Our partnerships with fixture manufacturers, beauty brands, fintech companies, technology firms, and industry associations have helped us extend the reach of our solutions which aim to free our clients from the behind-the-scenes details so they can focus on strategic and creative tasks.”
Vogelsang continued, “When I think back on my career, what stands out most to me is that success is driven by trusting your teammates and yourself. Through every new service introduction, software and/or hardware migration, or solution revamp, I believed that our associates could make it happen! In 2001, I trusted my fellow managers and the services that our teams delivered enough to risk losing my job by offering to buy the company back. It is truly rare to work somewhere for 40 years and still be able to have that level of confidence in the future. I never could have imagined then what the company would look like now, but we are exactly where we should be, using our skills and expertise to refine and execute the processes and functions necessary to ensure a positive shopper experience online and instore.”
