Waukesha, Wisconsin – July 9, 2024 – Dave Wendland, vice president, strategic relations, and member of the HRG owner group, will be presenting a continuing education (CE) session, “The Often Untapped Gold Mine: Maximizing Front-End Sales,” for Cencora’s upcoming Good Neighbor Pharmacy (GNP) ThoughtSpot conference, July 24-27, in Orlando, FL. The CE session will be presented on Thursday, July 25th, 4:00-5:00 p.m.
Community pharmacies are a destination for medication, both prescription and over-the-counter, beauty supplies, gifts, and even a quick snack. With low reimbursements from PBMs, pharmacies who focus on the consumer goods offered in the front-of-store can improve front-end sales to increase their business’ overall profit margins.
Wendland stated, “Throughout my 30+ year career I have had the privilege to deliver more than 200 CE programs for pharmacists looking to enhance their business skills, improve their productivity, or bring new value to their patients. This topic may be one of the timeliest and most important to the pharmacy profession in general, as prescription margins in particular continue to shrink.”
The CE will cover these learning objectives, among others:
- Ways to utilize data to identify self-care needs of patient population.
- Merchandising strategies for increasing patient access to self-care items and consumer goods.
- Marketing tactics to increase foot traffic and engage patients and consumers.
