HRG Wins Top Workplace Award for Fifth Year in a Row

Waukesha, Wisconsin — May 19, 2021 — HRG has been named one of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s 2021 Top Workplaces, awarded to the best places to work in southeastern Wisconsin. This is the fifth year in a row that HRG has achieved the honor.

2020 was HRG’s 40th anniversary. While the company had to postpone the celebration of this milestone due to the pandemic, their core principles that are their foundation and reasons for being in business for 40 years — collaboration, flexibility, transparency, compassion, integrity, ingenuity, optimism, and perseverance — were critical to making it through a tumultuous year and winning Top Workplace.

Beth Maas, SPHR, HRG’s director of human resources, said, “Like other businesses, we had to transition and adjust to working from home quickly. We had to be flexible to help our associates who are caretakers manage those responsibilities with work. In addition to managing the various needs of our work-from-home staff, we were implementing procedures and protocols to protect our skeleton crew of essential workers that were in the office. I’m so proud of the agility and adaptability everyone exhibited to maintain our strong customer relationships and ensure our high level of service. It’s very rewarding to know our team appreciated our efforts to find solutions throughout the year to support us as a Top Workplace. We even moved up two spots!”Top Workplace 2021

Dawn Vogelsang, president and majority owner of HRG, commented, “To know that our associates continued to find this company to be a great place to work, value our culture, appreciate their managers and co-workers, and recognize everything senior management did to keep some sort of normalcy in a crazy year, is a great feeling. I can’t wait until we can have a proper, in-person celebration with everyone!”

Vogelsang continued, “We continue to adjust as we welcome employees back to the office. We will be instituting a new policy for associates to work from home two days a week starting this summer, as we recognize that many appreciate the additional flexibility this offers. We also modified our bring-your-dog-to-work policy from one day a week to every weekday because we see the benefits our furry friends have on our staff.”

The Top Workplaces are based solely on the results of an employee survey that was administered by Energage, LLC, a leading research firm that specializes in organizational health and workplace improvement. Companies participating were surveyed about aspects of their workplace culture and are measured on qualities such as company leadership, career opportunities, workplace flexibility, compensation, benefits, and the impact company policies have on innovation and morale.
