JOB TITLE: JUNIOR SOFTWARE DEVELOPER
Hamacher Resource Group, Inc. (HRG) is seeking a creative, energetic, and ambitious Junior Software Developer with experience in website, software, and database design, development, and debugging. Experience gained in the classroom and through personal application will be accepted. In this role, you will work as a Junior Software Developer within the IT team responsible for HRG’s internal and external software, website, network, database, and IT solutions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Receive projects from Information Technology Manager or Lead, analyze projects to determine best solution and timetables, and perform the needed programming to complete the projects.
- Test completed projects to assure they meet the users’ needs, follow-up on completed projects to make sure they are satisfactory, and revise any projects that don’t satisfy the users’ needs or provide the correct output.
- Research and present new technologies to the software and website development team.
- Actively solicit and incorporate feedback from clients (primarily internal) on new software and website features and design.
- Maintain documentation needed to support the programming needs of each project.
- Make recommendations for improvements to the systems being utilized by end-users.
- Perform end-user technical support.
- Assist Information Technology department lead in resolving questions or problems.
- Provide technical support to Network Administrator.
- Understand business data.
- Superior communication skills in understanding and evaluating the needs of internal employees, as well as, the information output.
- Ability to detect and resolve errors in programming using the computer systems supported by the company.
- Participate as an IT team member by providing and accepting feedback to colleagues through code reviews and meetings.
- Self-driven quick learner with attention to details and quality.
- Effective written and verbal communication and presentations skills.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university with a degree track in computer science, website development, information systems, or equivalent.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
REQUIRED COMPUTER SKILLS:
- Visual Studio, .NET (C#)
- Relational database principles and development, SQL, SQL Server, and MySQL
- Website development and design, WordPress, ASP/ASP.NET, HTML/CSS/JavaScript, IIS
- Knowledge of Windows operating system
- Microsoft Office suite
- Development of VBA procedures, Macros, forms, and reports in MS Access
