- According to the CDC’s National Diabetes Statistics Report 2020, roughly 26.9 million people of all ages had diagnosed diabetes in 2018. Help your diabetes patients find diabetes-friendly
products in your front-end by using signs to point them out. Think beyond traditional categories you associate with diabetes care, such as foot and skin care. For instance, there are specific cold products for people with diabetes, and you may stock other products, such as sugar-free candy that you can highlight. This will not only make your store a diabetes management destination, it will also increase sales and profits.
- Another way you can help your patients with diabetes manage their disease include offering blood glucose testing and blood pressure monitoring at your store. Consider also offering educational sessions. Partner with a local dietician or personal trainer to provide insight and ideas for managing the disease. After the sessions you could give a store tour to point out diabetes-friendly products you carry across the store.
- With cold & flu season around the corner and the government no longer offering free covid test kits, make sure you have an ample stock on hand to meet customer demand. HRG analysts chose InteliSwab® COVID-19 Rapid Test from Orasure as a top new item launch of 2021 for their Future 50 feature in Drug Store News.
