Learn about the latest in the diabetes management category and apply these tips in your store.
- Blood glucose testing is up 17% at independent pharmacies over the past 52 weeks*. When a patient with diabetes fills a prescription, it’s an opportunity for you as a health care provider to offer additional products and services they may need. Recommend items that help address ancillary issues they may be facing or side effects that result from their medication or condition.
- With diabetes being a disease that is managed daily, it’s no surprise that the insulin, syringes & delivery
systems, and blood glucose testing subcategories have the most products trending upward. Use signage on your retail sales floor and at shelf to let customers know if you keep these items behind the pharmacy counter. This is also an opportunity for face-to-face interaction as you provide support to this valuable customer.
- Thirty-five percent of the new items launched recently were in the blood glucose testing subcategory. Innovation continues to trend within digital testing meters making it easier for patients with diabetes to communicate with their doctor and get accurate blood glucose results. Talk to your customers about these new tools that can help them better manage their condition.
