Waukesha, Wisconsin – July 15, 2015 – Hamacher Resource Group (HRG) has again donated time and supplies to the Scenic Shore 150 Bike Tour that benefits the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society®. The ride takes place July 18 and 19, and is the largest locally organized and supported event for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

For the past three years, volunteers at the company have stayed after work to assemble the race information and materials that are then provided to registered participants. Each year HRG has assembled over half the packets needed for the 1,000+ riders. The process is detail-oriented, requiring HRG associates to match bib numbers with multiple inserts including the GPS tag for the participants. HRG also donates first-aid and sun care supplies for distribution on the course. In 2013 and 2014 HRG had associates that participated in the 150 mile, two-day Tour.

Julie Bonnell, director of operations and part of the owners group, leads this and other charity efforts at HRG, an initiative that is one aspect of the corporate wellness program. Bonnell said, “I’m proud of our efforts for Scenic Shore 150 in particular. We are a reliable partner to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for this event; they know they can count on us to come through. This effort is unique in that associates from different departments come together and as we complete the important task of assembling the rider packets, we also build stronger internal bonds.”

Bonnell continued, “Giving back to the community is a large part of our culture at HRG. Associates across the company are able to work together in a new, rewarding way, and there are always multiple personal connections to every cause we support.”

Details about the event can be found on the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s website.
