HRG Flexes Experience and Expertise to Provide Unconventional Client Solutions

Waukesha, Wisconsin, August 5, 2014 — Hamacher Resource Group, Inc. (HRG) recently completed a delivery for a new client that consisted of a wide-reaching solution for the overhaul of a national mass retailer’s cosmetic department. The atypical HRG project for local manufacturer, PM Plastics, includes detailed instructions on how to pack, skid, ship and unpack new fixtures as well as the actual installation and merchandising instructions.

PM Plastics of Pewaukee, Wisconsin, is a custom injection molding company that was trying to win a project with the national mass retailer for the cosmetic department overhaul when they realized they were unable to open or read the space planning files provided. They searched online and discovered a vendor located minutes away that could help them out. “We talked to HRG and were initially just glad they could help us open and translate the files,” said Jeff Kildow, sales representative, at PM Plastics. “After further discussion we realized their vast retail experience and range of internal skills could benefit us in more ways than just that one.”

In addition to opening and translating the space planning files and identifying the fixture elements, the two companies realized that HRG’s diverse capabilities could further help PM Plastics by:

  • providing digital photography for and writing the installation instruction guides,
  • building a relational database that brought together disparate data and served as the source for creating kitting instructions, packing lists and purchase orders, and
  • developing a series of training videos to assist store personnel in fixture set-up and department merchandising.

“Ultimately, our retail knowledge and range of skill sets allowed us to provide a far-reaching solution unlike most of our typical client deliveries,” said Dawn Vogelsang, president of HRG and member of the owners group. “It’s always rewarding to find new ways we can assist companies we wouldn’t normally consider in our target market.”

“We’re very pleased with everything Hamacher delivered, as is our retailer client,” Kildow said. “It was a collaborative relationship and I’m impressed by all that was accomplished. HRG’s flexibility and willingness to stretch their abilities to meet our needs and the needs of our client was instrumental in the overall success of this project. I hope we have the opportunity to work together again.”
