I am very excited to attend the upcoming Natural Products Expo West Show in Anaheim! This will be my first time at this particular show. However, I am by no means a novice to trade shows, attending dozens throughout my career including NACDS Annual, NACDS TSE, GMDC HBW & GM conferences, PLMA shows, NACS, the International Housewares show, Toy Fair, and numerous ECRM events. I’ve even had the privilege of attending the International Canton Toy Fair in Guangzhou, China. Each show had their similarities and differences. But HRG’s experienced Expo West attendees tell me I haven’t seen anything yet!

The sheer size of the show — covering the entire Anaheim Convention Center as well as many surrounding hotels — is incredible! With over 3,400 exhibitors, it will be impossible to see them even all, though I’d like to.

While we work across many industries and retail channels, I will be focusing my time primarily on visiting health, beauty, and wellness product manufacturers — mainly in these categories: cough, cold & allergy, vitamins & supplements, skin care, oral care, digestive aids, and pain relief. I will definitely be paying close attention to exhibitors and products featuring CBD as this will continue to be a huge trend in 2019 and beyond.Natural Products Expo West

We are now firmly entrenched in the fixture management/coordination and execution arena, so I will be talking with exhibitors about their pain points in the area of fixtures to see where we can streamline the process to achieve cost savings for everyone involved.

I am looking forward to Natural Products Expo West. I expect to see and learn a lot, meet many people, and come back to the HRG office with a new outlook about new possibilities in the natural space. I am also looking forward to trying new foods, drinks, and products that I might not normally try. Who knows, I may even try some cricket protein products! Then again, maybe not…
