Hamacher Resource Group Poised to Help
Stakeholders Capture Home Health Care Market
WAUKESHA, WI – November 15, 2011 – Hamacher Resource Group, Inc. (HRG), the retail consumer healthcare industry’s premier marketing and research firm, is developing the industry’s most comprehensive digital home health care (HHC) product library containing product attributes that can be easily searched and sorted to streamline identification and ordering. Wholesalers and retailers, including drugstores and home medical suppliers, will be able to access images and specific product data about a range of HHC products from wound care products, bath safety rails, and blood pressure monitors to scooters and ostomy care items. Multiple views of the product will include the retail package, materials and color options when applicable, and the item out-of-package and assembled when appropriate. Pertinent product attributes will also be available, including UPC, product dimensions, material, HCPCS (Healthcare Common Procedure Coding System), and many others.
The initial phase of the library will contain approximately 6,000 items and grow from there. “With this expansion to our well-established health, beauty and wellness data assets library, we took into consideration the specific needs of both our business-to-business as well as our business-to-consumer clients,” said Julie Bonnell, director of operations at HRG. “We are capturing the HHC product data to include the attributes that will lend themselves to easy searching by both of these customer groups. A retailer needs package and consumer-friendly feature information while a wholesaler selling to a retailer, institution, or association would need those features as well as other particulars such as case quantities and whether the product is offered in retail packaging.”
As a leading provider of product images and data, this library expansion is helping HRG stay ahead of the increasing demand for home medical product data and images. As the Baby Boomer generation enters their retirement years, the home health care industry is destined for record growth. Assistance products and aids for living an active, healthy life will help improve quality of life and facilitate freedom and independence. HRG can assist retailers and help them take advantage of the growing need for HHC products by building their home medical department now. HRG also provides planograms and merchandising strategies for wholesalers and retailers to help them capitalize on this opportunity and better serve their customer base.
“We’re excited to bring this product image and data set to our clients and be able to be a resource for them in starting or expanding their home health care business,” said Dawn Vogelsang, president of HRG. “At our Wholesaler Summit in the fall of 2010, our new product development team presented our initial concept for this home health care data set. We were very pleased with the feedback we received and incorporated it into our launch plan. Now we’re nearing the end of the initial phase and welcoming clients to sign up for delivery. To round out our offering for our retail customers who are just starting an HHC department, we also have developed a series of educational guides called Retail Building Blocks: Home Health Care, which was written by our category experts to help retailers meet the growing demand in their own community.”
